2.5 year old updates

So much to catch you all up on! Jack is 2.5 years old and just the cutest and happiest little boy you've ever seen. He is now in daycare full days Mondays-Thursdays and he really loves school. Most mornings he is running to give me a quick hug so he can then open the door and run down the hallway to hit the elevator button. (One of his faves!)

He's in the "Fireflies" classroom with his teachers Miss Heather, Miss Gigi, Miss Katora and Miss Leah. He has two girlfriends...one is Belle (pronounced Belly) and the other is Selma. The teachers joke that Selma is Jack's backup girlfriend. Most days I'm able to work from home and I can see Jack and his class playing in the playground across the street from our apartment. I'll watch him running after each girl and holding hands. It's actually a bit unusual for this age-- they often prefer parallel play, which means playing next to each other versus with each other-- but his teachers say he's very social.

Jack is also talking up a storm and figuring out sentence structure, which is the cutest. Tonight he was riding around the apartment on his scooter and we heard him telling Buckeye, "Buckeye, watch out! Jack is coming through." Haha. I also heard him in the bathtub telling Dada, "Oh my goodness!" He was raving about his awesome bath toys. LOL.

Jack loves movies, music and books. His favorite movies are "The Good Dinosaur," "Zootopia," and "Cars." His favorite books are "Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site" and "Opposites" where he has to identify the opposites of words like night + day. He still loves "Wheels on the Bus" (a long standing favorite) and the theme song from Zootopia called "Try Everything."

Here are some things I learned about Jack recently during teacher/parent conferences: Jack loves making his classmates laugh and will keep trying to make them laugh until they do, he's the youngest in the class but that doesn't bother him, he's completely smitten over his girlfriend Belle, and he's figured out mischievous ways to get out of cleaning up, such as holding the baskets and ordering his classmates to pick up instead.

At night, he will sing himself to sleep with his faves "ABC's," "Happy Birthday," (he says Happy Birthday to meeeeee!), Baa Baa Black Sheep, Itsy Bitsy Spider and his school's special song "Hello, How are you?" He sings as soon as we wakes up too, and will happily lay in bed for 30 minutes while singing away (and giving mama and dada more time to sleep!)

He's the best and we love him so much!
